This year, I’ve decided to start a little tag for other bloggers to join in with: a Would You Rather. I have not made this idea up nor do I claim to be the first person to do this but, this year, I wanted to use my own questions and get my favourite bloggers involved. I also can’t wait to see how people answer these questions and shed an idea on how different celebrate the big Christmas Day.

Eat brussel sprouts or cauliflower cheese?
This HAS TO be Cauliflower cheese for me not only because I’ve never liked sprouts but because my Grandad ALWAYS makes the best Cauliflower Cheese on Christmas Day for our dinner. It’s honestly one of the best parts.

Have twinkling lights or still lights?
I can’t imagine anything worse than trying to watch TV while your Christmas Tree fairy lights have a full on rave in the corner of your eye. Still lights all the way for me!

Eat gingerbread or Ferraro Roche?
Gingerbread all the way for me. In my hot chocolate or in biscuit form - the sweet/spicy flavour beats the gross Chocolate and Nut combo any day.

Open your xmas presents with only immediate family or with all of your family members?
I actually have a pretty small family anyway so, every year, we open our Christmas presents together as just the 7 of us (although, as of last year, with the introduction of my boyfriend to the family, it’s now 8). Despite that, I do have distant family that I’ve never really been close to so, personally, this one would have to be ‘Open your xmas presents with only immediate family’.

Cook xmas dinner for the whole family or don’t eat xmas dinner at all?
This is a tough one because Christmas Dinner is a force that cannot be reckoned with. Although, I do find that it’s one of those meals that you eat and eat and eat until you can’t move and you have the most impressive food baby ever. For this reason, I think I’d rather put my creative juices on display and cook for the whole family (which I guess is easy for me seeing as though there’s only ever 7 of us).

Have a real xmas tree or a fake xmas tree?
I feel like some people will actually curse me for this answer but it’s has to be: fake. As much as I completely adore the smell of a real Christmas tree, the mess, the disposal and the cost every year just isn’t the best in my eyes. A few years ago, my parents invested in one of those real-but-fake Christmas trees which we happily just store away in the loft every time.

Use blue, yellow, white or multicoloured lights?
I feel like the answers to this one will really depend on how the person has their home decorated. For me, it has to be either white or warm lights on our main Christmas tree because we’ve always aimed for a Classic look however, in my bedroom, this gal gotta have the multicolour!

Eat mince pies or xmas cake?
Mince pies 100%! Especially those ones with icing on top - yum.

Wake up at 6am or 10am?
I wish I could say 10AM and pretend I’m civilised but, honestly, I’m quite the morning person as it is so, I generally wake up in between, so about 8AM.

Drink champagne or hot chocolate?
Just by family tradition, it has to be champagne.

Eat Heros or Roses?
Heros by a mile. If I can fish out the Creme Egg ones and the Mini Twirls and stash them in my dressing gown pocket, I will be a happy fisherman.

Get a puppy for xmas or a kitten for xmas?
I mean, c’mon, this is me. A kitten. Make that 5.

Watch Elf or Home Alone?
Again, I feel like I’ll be cursed for this answer but it just has to be Home Alone for me. I think it’s because of the thrill element in the films - they just go that extra tiny step.

Only be able to listen to xmas songs all year round or never hear an xmas song again?
To be completely honest, I’m not the kind of person that has to have a Spotify session for at least an hour every day. Music isn’t really my oxygen so, if I had to listen to Christmas songs ONLY for the full year, I don’t think I’d mind.

Wake up bright and early and get all of the best boxing day sale goodies or stay warm and cosy in bed wearing your new xmas pjs?
As bad as it least cost effective as it may be, I’d chose chilling out over crawling through Sale clothing rails anyway - whether it’s the Boxing Day sales or not. On the rare occasions that I have actually visited Boxing Day sales, I’ve found that they’re definitely hyped up more than necessary.

I now tag Abbie, Amelia, Lily and Emily to answer these
questions and tag 4 more people. Let’s go!

  1. Love your answers! Can't wait to share my own, thanks for tagging me x
