UNNECESSARY NECESSITIES

I'm tremendously lucky to have such wonderful items floating around my room - from the necessities to the unnecessary necessities. I've decided to pull out some of the unnecessary crap I have, and just discuss why I appreciate and am grateful for them where other people might see them as pointless.

Washi Tape - Being a stationary nerd means my inevitably crippling love for Washi Tape exists. I'd like to know what is more satisfying than patterned tape. People ask me what I use it for... they obviously don't have enough decorative ambitions running through their paper brains.

Patterned Paper - This is basically patterned/printed paper that I bought from TK Maxx a few months ago. The sunny side is that they're gorgeous, a good find and a good price. The flip side: I am yet to find an actual use for them and, even though I can see potential uses, they are still waiting to be anything more than simply admired. I am looking forward to tearing into them for exciting projects.

One Line A Day - This is something I update every day with no real purpose or theme. I keep it on my bedside where I can easily update it and/or look through the previous days to spark memories. It's really helpful to keep the sentences positive because it generates healthy memories - perfect for bringing my mood up.

Letter Stamps - I love these stamps because I am a lover of typography and general DIY. Like the paper, I still haven't used them to their full potential because it's not every day I come across something that needs stamping. I'm so, so, so excited to get to use these eventually.

Memory Box - This cute, shabby chic box of rubbish is definitely everything but a box of rubbish.  This box of random goodies is so full that it doesn't actually close. It includes all sorts of memorabilia from the cork of my 16th birthday champagne bottle, to concert tickets, receipts and childhood pictures. I find that it's quite effortless to keep it updated, and I love looking back on the memories.

Polaroid Pictures - I got my polaroid pictures printed from Polargram, where I used photos directly from my Instagram and my computer. The quality is amazing and they look very pretty hung along string. I loved my first batch so much, that I got another set for Christmas. They may not be the most fulfilling/useable items in my room, but they definitely look great and are perfect for decorating your space with personal touches.
