La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+]

Wow, I'm late on the bandwagon with this one. This product has been raved about on a bajillion blogs for a while. It's always been a thing that I thought would be good and in the back of my mind.

I was recently struck with an outbreak of spots around my forehead, hairline and temple. So I remembered that a lot of people who used Effaclar Duo had great results.

Now, here is the part in which I repeat how much I respect and adore La Roche-Posay as a brand. For those who don't already know, I suffered with intolerant skin for a while and it really upset me. Doctors were prescribing products that weren't working for me. Since I stumbled across La Roche-Posay, I have bought numerous amount of products from treatments to make-up. Their products just work. There's no two ways about it it. They do everything I need them to do, and I couldn't wish for more from the majority of them.

So back to break-outs. I bought Effaclar Duo [+] along with two other products from the La Roche-Posay as part of the buy-one-get-one-free deal. I bought a face wash and moisturizer to take on holiday along with my new Effaclar Dou [+].

I began using this every morning and night for a week and the result was excellent. My break out was evened out and it left no red marks or scars. The spots were gone and there was no sensation of burning or tingling.

I added a thin layer all over the face, mainly in focus points such as forehead, hairline, temple, chin and nose to cheeks. The fragrance isn't really up to much however there's nothing bad about it. It has a smooth lightweight gel texture that blends in well and dries rapidly and doesn't feel tight. It can be used with or without moisturizer. I use moisturizer afterwards due to the fact that it's advised not to be used around the eyes however that's where I do suffer worst with any dry skin.

The only down sides for me is the tube size and how you wish you could have more. Also the price is £15.50, that's quite a lot for a small tube.

Over all, it's a great product that I would recommend to anyone with and level of spots, from acne to break-outs. I'm glad La Roche-Posay have continued to live up to my expectations.

  1. I do love the brand, but I always think its so pricey. Is it worth it vs other brands?

    1. Honestly, I haven't tried this kind of product in any other brand simply becuase there is nothing as affective from any other brand. Obviously the effects will vary throughout skin type, etc. but for me I feel like the price was worth it :)
